How to Make Creme Fraiche

Tangy and silky, good on so many things both sweet and savory, creme fraiche is just about the easiest thing you will ever put together in your kitchen.

Okay. Are you ready? 

Stir together 2 tablespoons buttermilk and 2 cups heavy cream (non-ultra pasturized, please). 
Leave at room temperature for 8-12 hours. That's it!

The mixture will become thickened on top and unctuous underneath. This is delicious on nearly anything, from a bowl of lentils to a slice of apple tart.

It will last for about 10 days.

Go ahead and spoon it over as many things as possible. It makes everything a little richer and that much more delicious.
